The Toyota Celica rally cars were entered into the World Rally Championship by Toyota Team Europe, set up by Ove Andersson in 1972. Under the team they won several manufacturer and driver championships in the early 90's. The team was based in Cologne, Germany, so the cars were registered there, giving them their iconic K-AM number plates.
